What are Shortfill E-Liquids?
Shortfills are large bottles of e-liquid which contain no nicotine.
They are usually found as 50ml of e-liquid contained in a 60ml bottle, hence the name shortfill.
A 10ml gap is left at the top of the bottle to give enough space to add an unflavoured 18mg nicotine shot (aka nic shot).
This allows the 0mg bottle to be transformed into a finished 3mg bottle of e-liquid.
As these e-liquids are designed to have a nicotine shot added, they have a slightly higher percentage of flavouring so the end e-liquid isn't over-diluted.
But Why?
Shortfill e-liquids were first introduced to the market in 2017 following the implementation of the Tobacco Products Directive (TPD).
Before the new laws, you were able to buy larger bottles of e-liquid which contained nicotine. However, the TPD restricts any nicotine containing e-liquids to a maximum size of 10ml.
Shortfills were created as a way to keep the convenience and cost saving of bigger bottles while staying compliant with the TPD laws.
50ml shortfills are the most readily available, which make 60ml of 3mg e-liquid. Some E-liquid producers (like us) also have 6mg shortfills and 12mg shortfills.
Can I use shortfills in my vape kit?
Yes, you can!
Which ever type of kit you're using, we have a shortfill e-liquid for you.
The vast majority of e-liquid is available in higher VG blends, which is ideal for sub-ohm tanks and drippers. We also stock a variety of shortfills for starter kits and mouth-to-lung devices which have a higher PG content.
All of our shortfills come with the type of nic shots needed to make the e-liquid the PG/VG ratio stated in the product details, however you can change this by switching the type of nic-shot provided by requesting this in the comments section when you check out.
Why should I use them?
There are many benefits of using shortfill e-liquids.
They tend to work out much cheaper than buying the equivalent amount of 10ml bottles.
It's also much more difficult to lose a 60ml bottle than one 10ml bottle, which should save you more money!
If you're away from home, it's easier to carry one large bottle of e-liquid than it is to carry around and keep track of many smaller bottles.
How do they work?
Once you received your shortfill, mixing it up is simple.
To fill up a 50ml shortfill, take off the nib of the bottle, pour the full 18mg nicotine shot into the bottle and replace the nib.
Now shake vigorously for at least 30 seconds.
You're now ready to fill up your tank!
What do I need to buy?
Once you've decided which shortfill e-liquid you'd like to purchase, you need to select which "strength" you need.
If you'd like to mix a 3mg, you'll need an Easy 3 or a 50ml shortfill. If you'd like a 6mg, you need an Easy 6 or a 40ml shortfill. If you like a 12mg you'll need an Easy 12 or a 20ml shortfill.
And that's it, we include the correct number of nic shots needed to fill your bottle and create your desired strength.
